Roses From Jesus – Love Aware 26

Roses From Jesus

In the big things,
I cry out loud.
In the big things,
Able to recognize your hand.

I witness your wondrous work,
Upon mountains sitting high.
At times I miss the pebbles in valleys,
Yet, your miracles in those also apply.

In the little things,
Your loving care does show.
In the little things,
From your creative heart, all things grow.

My heart is grateful for simple and small,
Things that can seem everyday mundane.
Then I remember how it is written,
You know my every hair and have recorded my name.

You direct my paths,
protect my day-to-day,
Watch me cross the street,
lead when to go, guide me when to stay.

I’m thankful for the little things,
Some may say these gifts each and all:
Roses From Jesus, trinket-sized gifts
From you are all big, even if they’re small.

Lacking Liking No More – Love Aware 25

boy reaching up

For a long time,
I wanted to be liked,
At times simply
Not to be unliked.

Which grew, after awhile,
To remain unhurt,
Emotionally,
And Physically.

Looking in wrong places,
Not in their faces
I should’ve been looking,
Only for your face, Lord.

Now, no longer lacking liking,
Nor wanting others to like me,
But for them to like you and see you, Jesus
And what you do through me.

With Folded Hands – Love Aware 24

praying with folded hands

With folded hands, on bended knee,
I come to you with a thankful heart.
For saving me, for sustaining me,
For loving me when I foolishly depart.

I despise the times I’ve ignored your words,
And times I’ve used mine against thee.
I cast aside my prideful ways and return,
With folded hands, on bended knee.

My heart cries for things transpiring,
For people lost, and those refusing to see.
Your tender mercies, I receive,
With folded hands, on bended knee.

Protect me from such hatred, Lord,
Strengthen me for battles so I don’t flee.
Triumphant testimonies I declare,
With folded hands, on bended knee.

Victory, I shout and sing
With the promise of Jesus: eternity!
A gift not deserved, yet grace given,
With folded hands, on bended knee.

Desperate Cry – Love Aware 23

Young Boy Crying

Looking around me, troubles I hear,
Teach me, Lord, in how to pray.
People ask me, hearts full of fear,
Guide me Spirit, in what to say.

So much chaos, the world over,
With anger flaring from all sides.
Even brothers & sisters in Christ,
throwing out words none too wise.

Where do I start, God, while on my knees,
Praying for lands and peoples, too.
Make it better, so without a doubt:
We’d know the Healing is because of you!

Guide our leaders and protect them,
So their decisions would be for the good.
Send aid in deeds, supplies, and prayer,
Have mercy upon cities and neighborhoods.

Calm their hearts, remove their fears,
Separate enemies from each other’s view.
In times of destruction and despair,
Show me what to say, what to do.

Love Aware – Day 22: Humming From the Inside

hymnal

Lord, I’m thankful as you draw me near,
And I know internally of your enduring love,
It’s why I’m humming from the inside.

Your forgiving and merciful ways,
And how you either guard or clear my path,
Is what causes my humming from the inside.

Shortly after I awake in the early morning,
I wonder where did I get this tune in my head?
In my heart, humming from the inside.

Each day is a blessing, each turn of the tide,
Knowing you’ll direct me on proper paths,
Keeps me humming from the inside.

I’ll sing to you in worship,
And hum on occasion, too.
All the while, humming from the inside.

When I am troubled, or tempted to err,
I’m thankful for hymns and spiritual song,
Curing my heart, humming from the inside.

You know my heart, Oh Father God.
As Christ’s blood brings us together.
Even with a shout, humming from the inside.

It is well with my soul, in sweet hours of prayer,
Jesus paid it all, such amazing grace,
Compels constant humming from the inside.
